Rigging Equipment & General Deck Items

Rigging equipment and general deck items is the bosun’s section: shackles and turnbuckles, snatch blocks and sheaves, wire rope clips and thimbles, cargo and crane hooks, chain and chain stoppers, hatch-cover rubber and cleats, pilot ladders and gangway nets, tarpaulins, and the fittings that keep the deck working. It is raised by the chief officer, often after an inspection or a port-state remark.

Load-bearing items are bought to a working load limit and a certificate. Put the WLL, the size and the standard (JIS, DIN, US federal) on the requirement so the bids are comparable.
