  1. 01

    Register your company — free

Ship owners, managers, operators and charterers use GeoMarineHub at no cost: free registration, unlimited requests, unlimited quote comparisons. No commission is charged on anything supplied to you — chartering fixtures are the one exception, carrying the trade’s standard 1.25% from each party only when a fixture concludes.

  2. 02

    Build the requirement

Pick the vessel, the port and the ETA. Add lines from the 51,000-item IMPA-standard catalog or as manual items with explicit units. A draft cart follows you across devices until you submit.

  3. 03

The platform routes it — sealed

Lines are grouped by service automatically: provisions and bunkers in one cart become separate requests, each sent only to verified suppliers activated at your port in those categories. Suppliers see your vessel type, ETA, terms and lines — never your name. Before you submit, you see exactly how many suppliers will be notified.

  4. 04

Compare sealed bids, line by line

Bids arrive anonymized and priced per canonical unit, so quotes are genuinely comparable. Your payment terms were visible to suppliers before they priced — no surprises on either side. Port-call bidding closes at your vessel’s ETA; freight requests have no ETA cutoff and stay open until you award or cancel.

  5. 05

    Award and talk

Accept one bid; identities are revealed to both sides, a private chat opens, and the order is confirmed with the accepted line prices. Losing bidders are told their bid closed.

  6. 06

    Track to the berth

The order runs a server-enforced lifecycle — received, preparing, in transit, delivered, completed. Delivery requires documentary proof from the supplier. Everything is measured against your ETA and flagged the moment it runs late, because the vessel sails either way.

  7. 07

    Close it out

Confirm receipt (or the order auto-completes after seven quiet days), rate the supplier, and keep the full immutable history — every status change, actor, note and document.

Not ready to open an account? Send the requisition anyway

Every step above is free, but none of it is a precondition. Forward the requisition you are already holding and our desk turns it into the same sealed-bid comparison — you can claim the account afterwards, once you have seen the prices.

Post it from the quay, not from the office

The same requirement, the same sealed bids, on a phone: write it at the berth, keep it as a draft until the ETA is fixed, and get a push the moment a supplier answers.
