Procedure · the supplier journey
The demand at your ports, delivered to your desk
No cold calls, no bought leads, no relationship tax. Vessels post what they need at the ports you serve; you price it sealed and win on the number. This is the whole journey.
- 01
Register and verify your company
Chandlers, bunker and water suppliers, waste operators, agents and forwarders register free. Company verification — trade licence, the signatory’s ID and a proof of address, reviewed by a person — comes before your first bid reaches any buyer: every supplier a buyer meets here is a real, vetted business.
- 02
Activate your ports, declare your categories
You are matched by two facts: the ports you serve and the categories you cover. Both are yours to set. Matching needs both — the platform warns you loudly if either is missing, because an unmatched supplier waits for requests that can never arrive.
- 03
Requests come to you
When a vessel posts a requirement at your port in your categories, it appears in your queue and you are notified — with vessel type, ETA, payment terms and the full line list. What you never see before winning: who the buyer is. What they never see: who else is bidding.
- 04
Price it blind, on stated terms
The buyer’s payment terms are visible before you price a single line. Quote per unit against IMPA-standard lines; totals compute server-side. Port-call bidding closes at the vessel’s ETA — the deadline is on the request. Freight is the exception: no ETA cutoff, open until the shipper awards.
- 05
Win, deliver, prove it
On award, identities open and a private chat starts. You advance the order — preparing, in transit, delivered — and delivery requires your documentary proof: a photo, delivery note or signed receipt. Late risk against the ETA is flagged to both sides equally.
- 06
Get rated, get paid, see the ledger
Completed orders build your public rating. Commission is charged only on completed business at your plan’s rate; your wallet shows every entry, and monthly statements show settlements in, commissions out, closing balance.
- 07
Scale when it works
Start free with one port. Paid tiers add ports and cut your commission rate — prepaid terms, no monthly lock-in mechanics, upgrade prorated for what you already paid. If a plan lapses, you keep your data; matching pauses until your ports fit your plan again.
- 08
Buy your stock from the platform
The same login buys wholesale: browse factory goods at one platform price, ask for a landed quote to your port or warehouse, pay on acceptance and get the purchase order and paid invoice in the same moment. Factories never see you and you never see them — the platform is the counterparty. If what you need is not listed, post a sourcing request.
Which supplier are you?
- Ship chandlers →
Vessel operators post structured requisitions at your ports. You bid sealed — priced per canonical unit, judged on the number, never on who blinked first.
- Bunker & fresh water suppliers →
Bunker and water requirements posted at your ports come straight to you — structured, dated, with terms visible — and your offer stays sealed.
- Garbage removal contractors →
Waste landings are posted at your ports as structured requirements. You bid sealed against the job, not against a favour owed.
- Port agents →
Agency requirements posted at your ports reach every activated agent. You quote sealed; the operator appoints on the numbers and the scope.
- Freight forwarders →
Marine freight requirements — lanes, cargo, mode — posted by verified shippers and operators, answered with sealed bids. No lead lists, no rate-shopping.
- Marine & logistics consultants →
A pay-per-engagement consultancy desk: companies post scoped questions, consultants answer them for a fee — no retainers, no pitch theatre.
- Factories & brands →
List at your price; GeoMarineHub adds its commission on top and brings you verified ship suppliers. You quote the shipping, the buyer pays you directly, and the platform invoices only its commission.
Questions suppliers ask
- Which suppliers can join GeoMarineHub?
- Ship chandlers, bunker and fresh water suppliers, garbage removal contractors, port agents and freight forwarders register as suppliers. Factories and brands have their own account type: they list at their own price, verified suppliers buy from them directly, and the platform adds its commission on top.
- How do RFQs reach me?
- You are matched on two facts you set: the ports you activate and the categories you cover. When a vessel posts a requirement at one of your ports in one of your categories it lands in your portal queue and you are notified, with the vessel type, ETA, payment terms and the full line list. Port-call bidding closes at the vessel’s ETA — the deadline is on the request.
- What does supplier verification ask for?
- Three documents, uploaded in the portal and reviewed by a person: your trade licence, an ID for the company’s signatory and a proof of address. You can set up your company, categories and ports before approval; bidding opens once the company is verified, so every supplier a buyer meets is a vetted business.
- What does it cost a supplier to join GeoMarineHub?
- Registration and verification are free, and the Free tier gives the service you register with one activated port. Paid plans are bought per service for a fixed prepaid term; they add ports and lower the commission rate. Commission is charged only on completed orders — bidding and losing cost nothing. Every current figure is on the pricing page, read live from the platform.
- Do I need a password?
- No. Sign-in is by e-mail only: enter your work e-mail and a six-digit code is sent to it. The same account works on the web and in the free GeoMarineHub app for iPhone and Android.
