What it is
IMPA 333333 is an aluminium Storz hose coupling of size 65: 81 mm across the lugs, with a hose end for 65 mm hose. One maker’s Storz table lists size 65 at an 81 mm lug distance, between 52-C at 66 mm and 75-B at 89 mm.[1]
How to specify and order it
Three heads in this family take a 65 mm hose: Storz-65 with 81 mm lugs (333333), Storz-B with 89 mm lugs (333337), and the "China" lug of 76 mm (333335). They are different head sizes. The same maker’s table lists 65 mm in the diameter column under both size 65 (81 mm) and size 75-B (89 mm), so the hose size alone does not identify the head. Measure the lug distance of the head already on the hydrant or hose and quote that figure.[1]
Order the matching parts by the 81 mm size: the delivery ring Storz-65 81 mm (333437) or the suction/delivery ring (333446), the locking ring (333454), the cap, listed as 2-1/2" Storz-65 lug 81 mm (333373), and the 81 × 66 mm reducing piece (333362) if the ship also uses C-size hose. For thread adapters, 333344 and 333345 are 2" and 2-1/2" BSP female.
Ask the maker to state the material and pressure rating. The German standard for Storz hose couplings for delivery and suction, DIN 14333, covers couplings rated PN 16.[2]
Rules and approvals
On tankers, some flags require nozzles, couplings and fittings of brass, bronze or an equivalent non-sparking material; Canada’s fire safety regulations are an example. The brass Storz-65 hose couplings are 333392 to 333394.[3]

- Is Storz-65 the same as Storz B?
- No. Storz-65 has 81 mm between the lugs and Storz B (75-B) has 89 mm. Both are made with 65 mm hose ends, so order by the lug distance, not the hose size.
- How do I identify a Storz-65 coupling?
- Measure the distance between the lugs. 81 mm is size 65, 89 mm is B, and 66 mm is C.
