What it is
IMPA 333328 is an aluminium Storz hose coupling of size C: 66 mm across the lugs, with a hose end for 52 mm hose. Makers list this head as size 52-C. One maker’s Storz table puts 52-C at a 66 mm lug distance and lists it with 38, 42, 45 and 52 mm in the diameter column.[1]
Storz hose couplings for delivery and suction are standardised in Germany as DIN 14333, "Hose couplings Storz System PN 16", 2023 edition.[2]
How to specify and order it
The head and the hose end are separate choices. The same 66 mm head is listed with 25, 32, 38 and 45 mm hose ends (333324 to 333327). In brass, 333391 has a 63 mm hose end. The hose end must match the bore of the hose it is bound onto, so measure the hose and give that figure as well as the 66 mm lug distance.
Order the parts that go with it from the same family: the delivery ring for Storz-C 66 mm (333436) or the suction/delivery ring (333445), the locking ring (333453), and the cap, listed as 2" Storz-C lug 66 mm (333372). The IMPA family uses "2 inch" for the C size and "2-1/2 inch" for the 81 mm Storz-65 size, which helps when a requisition gives inches.
Ask for couplings made to DIN 14333, the German standard for Storz couplings rated PN 16 for delivery and suction, and for the maker to state the material and pressure rating in the offer.[2]
Rules and approvals
On tankers, some flags require nozzles, couplings and fittings of brass, bronze or an equivalent non-sparking material; Canada’s fire safety regulations are an example. Aluminium is not among the materials named there, so check the flag’s rule before ordering 333328 for a tanker. The brass C couplings are 333387 to 333391.[3]
