About this section
Machinery equipment is the section for general-purpose machinery rather than engine spares: portable and fixed pumps, air compressors, electric motors, hydraulic power units and cylinders, hoists and winches, and the couplings, belts and filters common to them. The chief engineer raises it when a unit is beyond repair or a spare set is required.
Capacity, head or pressure, and the ship’s electrical supply are the facts a supplier needs beyond the code; put them on the requirement.
