Petroleum Products

Petroleum products here means the small quantities, not the bunkers: lubricating oils by the drum or pail, greases by the cartridge and the keg, hydraulic and gear oils, penetrating oils, degreasing solvents and kerosene. The chief engineer raises it against the machinery’s lubrication chart.

Lubricants are bought to a maker’s grade and the machinery’s approval, so name the product where the ship is already on a system; otherwise quote the specification (viscosity grade, NLGI class) with the code.
