Marine Paint

Marine paint is the ship’s protection against the sea: primers for steel and galvanised surfaces, topside and deck coatings, antifouling for the underwater hull, anticorrosive and tank coatings, and the thinners that go with them. The chief officer plans the paint programme by area and raises the requisition in litres or by the drum.

Coatings are usually bought to a maker’s system, so name the manufacturer and product where the vessel already carries it; the IMPA code fixes the type and colour, not the brand.
