Ship chandlers & ship supply at Port of NEOM SADHU

NEOM announced in May 2023 that management of Duba Port had been transferred from the national maritime regulator, Mawani, to NEOM in 2022, and that the port — located in Oxagon, NEOM’s industrial zone — was renamed Port of NEOM. Project cargo press describe it as a multipurpose port since the 2022 handover, handling general cargo, ropax, containers and bulk.^[1,6]

—Port directories still list the port under Duba as well as Port of NEOM, on the northern Red Sea coast about 480 km north-west of Yanbu and 780 km north-north-west of Jeddah.^[7]

—Two names, one coast, two facilities: the Aramco Duba Bulk Plant tanker terminal is a separate terminal about 35 km south-east of the port, with its own World Port Index entry and compulsory pilotage. Tanker calls there are not covered by this page.^[8,9]

NEOM describes Terminal 1 as a 550 m wide access channel with 18.5 m draft and a 900 m quay wall, with capacity designed to build up to 1.5 million TEU and the Kingdom’s first fully automated ship-to-shore cranes. Its listed services are general and project cargo, containers, bulk, warehousing, and ro-ro ferry and ropax.^[2]

—In June 2025 NEOM reported the arrival of the first fully automated, remote-controlled STS and electric RTG cranes in Saudi Arabia (automation by Siemens), alongside completion of the 900 m quay wall and deepening of the channel to 18.5 m. Its 2023 release had named crane orders of ten mobile harbour cranes from Saudi Liebherr and 10 STS cranes, 30 eRTGs and 6 automated RMGs from ZPMC.^[3,1]

—The marine contractor BESIX reports more than 4.6 km of quay wall and seven berths built at depths of 10.5 to 18.5 m.^[4]

—Timing: in August 2026 AGBI reported that NEOM’s site now gives the container terminal as launching from 2027 onwards, while a NEOM spokesperson said it was still due to open by year-end with ramp-up in 2027. An analyst quoted there described container operations as very limited so far, with the port focused on ro-ro ferry traffic and bulk construction materials, and no rail connection.^[5]

—Lines: NEOM’s 2023 release named CMA CGM as operator of the first fixed-call container service and said the port was added to CMA CGM’s JEDDEX service; Project Cargo Weekly (2024) reported MSC and CMA CGM calls and a daily ferry from Safaga across the Red Sea.^[1,6]

—An agent and the port’s own requirements: NEOM publishes no pilotage, anchorage or pre-arrival rules online — its port page offers only a contact form. Get the boarding position, VHF working channels and notice window from your agent before arrival.^[2]

—Expect construction: quay, channel and terminal works have been running since 2022, and the container terminal’s ramp-up is scheduled for 2027 — confirm berth availability, cranes in service and cargo-handling mode for your call.^[5,4]

—Provisions, deck and engine stores, spares and fresh water: post a requirement and suppliers serving Port of NEOM answer with sealed bids — suppliers never see the vessel’s name until award. If you supply ships at Duba / Port of NEOM, be the first supplier in.
