Need to change a shipment after booking? Request an amendment from the booking detail page — for example, change the cargo ready date, adjust quantities, or add a service. The forwarder reviews and confirms; agreed cost changes are settled directly with them.

Demurrage & Detention
⚠️ Demurrage / Detention: If cargo or containers are held beyond the free time at port or yard, the carrier may apply demurrage (at port) or detention (for equipment) charges. Your forwarder records these against the booking and bills you directly. Track accruing free-time on the booking detail page and act promptly to avoid charges.
Claims
If cargo is lost, short-delivered, or damaged, open a claim against the booking:
Notify the Forwarder — raise it in chat immediately and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
Open a Claim — from the booking, tap "Open Claim". Select the claim type (loss, damage, shortage, delay).
Provide Evidence — attach photos, survey reports, the B/L, commercial invoice and insurance certificate.
Insurance & Forwarder Handling — if cargo insurance was arranged, the forwarder/insurer processes the claim; Geomarine can mediate the marketplace record.
Resolution — settlement is agreed between you, the forwarder and the insurer.
Reminder: Geomarine is a neutral marketplace and is not the carrier, insurer, or payment processor. Demurrage, detention and claim settlements are handled directly between you and your forwarder/insurer.

Confirming Delivery & Reviewing the Forwarder
Close out the booking and rate your experience
Confirming Delivery
When your cargo arrives, confirm delivery on the booking to close it out. This records the completion date and unlocks the review step.
Picked up on time, clear communication, and cargo arrived undamaged ahead of ETA. Documentation was flawless. Will book again.

⚠️ Important: Cargo claims (loss, damage, shortage) should be raised promptly — ideally before signing a clean delivery receipt and within the timeframe in your B/L and insurance terms. Confirming a clean delivery may limit later claims.
